As Congress looks forward to reconvening in January, 2015, Senator McCann, among others on the Republican side (in control), will no doubt seek to overcome the effects of sequestration as it pertains to the military. My Whack-O Theory is that the policy has had an enormous motivating effect in bringing about a virtual revolution in military tactics due to innovation and advances in technology that are only now being applied to the military. It is bringing the US military into a new cyber world that is available to it, largely due to the US Navy and the Chairman's Office, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Navy should be given the go ahead through Congressional encouragement to achieve specific applications of the revolutionary methodologies throughout all military branches of service for the sake of the country.
Ever since the ancients, ground forces have been the major thrust of military might--to conquer lands and to sweep over civilizations. Those days are gone forever! Now, quickness of movement, e.g., in the Desert Storm Campaign, have heralded new methods and tactics. Let China and Russia remain committed to those olden-day ways of warfare. The US must move on. It means restructuring how the military operates.
I am thankful that over these several years I have encouraged military acceptance of today's technological revolution, which, be it obvious to reference the commonplace, is typified by the cell-phone and the Internet, bringing about a radically new world in communications. In the military realm, there is a significant start toward change--the coming of the age of drones, for example. But this is just the start of the revolution in military, heralding an epoch of different strategies and new technologies. The importance of this start has been in revealing that this revolution embraces reliance upon much cheaper (i.e., inexpensive) contrivances and materials and the deployment of far fewer military personnel. That is to say, there's much to be said for a leaner armed military on the "battlefield" (newly defined).
But I am sad to say that rightfully-vilified countries like North Korea are on that same wave length of looking to harness technological advances avidly, while many traditionalists in the West still want to hold on dearly to the old and the deteriorated methods of the past. Listen, Congress, to the appeals of our Western venture capitalists, for one, to unleash new ways to victory and protection of our shores, though it means to abandon the old, yet accomplished, well-worn paths in the US past.
I am also thankful at this Holiday Season that the US continues to support and defend peace around the world through maintaining its US military presence in some 200 countries with over 700 installations! (A fact that gnaws at the Russians, perhaps the Chinese, too.)

Will Putin be looking for a country in which to war?
Inasmuch as President Putin of Russia has received an overwhelming vote of support from the Russian people, while the Russian economy tanks, he probably is out to bring about a congruence of national public opinion and international sanctions. This may spell war.
He hasn't had much success--as much as he is looking for--in the Ukraine campaign. I think he'll opt for serious conflict in Moldova or in Georgia, where he's done reasonably well with no taint of tarnish on the Russian armor. The Russian peasantry are likely manufacturing the medals of honor even now. Russian soldiers who "volunteer" for war abroad will display them in parades of welcome-home from proudly waged battles in such countries as those mentioned above.

I underwent a complicated procedure at the University Medical Center, El Paso, Dr. ElMallah, of the Internal Medicine Clinic an internal specialist, in November. I found out the results yesterday; and I can report he did an outstanding job on my heart but also is doing outstanding work on the my kidneys, which have stayed in stage 4 renal status for lo these 20 years, harkening back to my days living in San Francisco.. He's bringing them back to life again--through his magic!
My four-day stay in the hospital was indeed restful and a lot of it done there accomplished on my bod while I slept through.

--I am finishing up My Memoirs' items. If there's interest for more to say, I'd be delighted to go on, despite the emotional feelings that sometimes arise as a I write. It's been completed as of 12/4/14.
--Soon, back to using the UTEP library on the topic of global governance.
--I'm receiving medical assistance and hence am staying alive thanks to the medical doctors at the University Medical Clinic, et al.

--I've had several requests not to include them in My Memoirs! So, I'll need to shorten the number of items for--I think they said--at least 5 years! I'll go on with the Memoirs, nevertheless. It's very hard writing them--I keep crying emotionally over every bit of sweat and tears I had at the time! I cry during the Eucharist service, too!
--I've been receiving information about the Globalization Project. It apparently is the case that factual information isn't all that widely distributed. So, I am going with the plan that I'll give an online précis of the item that will be written offline. It will be couched in "It's my opinion that this is what's going on...."
--Weather here in El Paso is fantastic in Fall.

Scotland: Not Now; Kurdistan: YES!
Well, little hope was given for Scotland to go independent. UK has made promises; Parliament will probably reject most of these.
Better, the chances that the Kurds will go independent. No need to fight with the Shites, who hate them. No need to assist the Sunnis, who look like they're still in Iraq limbo. Baghdad won't do anything they're not forced to by the US to back the Sunnis, should the Sunnis plan to reject the ISIS forces.
The real problem continues to be that the US has trained a million or so forces who turned out to be in the hands of a Shite regime.

Scotland Really Going Independent?
I was surprised that pundits are giving Scotland a good chance to go independent on first crack. I was thinking it would take several attempts before they won their freedom from the UK.
The facts that they are privy to North Sea oil and make great Scotch Whiskey give them a sound economic base that could affect the English pound.
Here's hoping they make it!

--For reasons I can't go into, but this is probably one of the more important days in my life; and I'm 77!
--Anyway, I am working on Christian Pragmatics in the Didactics series, Part II of the Pragmatics. It's surprising in that I explain some enigmatic Scriptural texts; and represents an apology for William James' The Varieties of Religious Experience. I don't expect any of today's readers of the Pragmatics will understand what I'm writing about, but in 200 years or 500 years readers should be able to get it. Theological treatises take that long to finally be understood!

XIII. Countries Making Friends with Equals
You probably know of the student exchange program; and several exchange programs in the professions. The Rotary Club has something similar: a club corresponds regularly with another club elsewhere in the world. Well, this WHACK-O Theory is a take-off on that idea!
In my writings, I've been working on trying to encourage Nigeria to assume a responsible role in African affairs for the sake of the Continent's Development. Then, this idea popped into my head! What if there were a country similar in size, etc. that could be a pen partner or even an occasional on- site visitor? Maybe they could exchange ideas on how each country develops its social, political and economic strategies. A simple exchange of ways each country handles its problems and challenges. In the case of Nigeria, I was thinking of Mexico--even though on another Continent--would be a good mix.
For example, how does each handle immigration; what's each country's tax structure like; how is each handling education of the youth? There's any number of topics that they might want to consider. It's all about the future of their two countries. What their hopes and aspirations are.
I think if globalization is to work effectively, there must be dialogue where two countries in similar circumstance can exchange plans and hopes. Globalization, that is, must cross regional and nation-state differences; but also geographical areas.

--I've started the Globalization series Didactics blog. Doing the research at the library, University of Texas, El Paso location, even this very day!
--I'll be starting the Memoirs series in the What's Up, John? blog come September or October, while I am taking a course in Creative Writing at El Paso Community College.
--After that unpleasant experience of leaving Las Vegas last month, I've settled down here in El Paso, once again. I've been coming to El Paso for (I figure) the past 15 years, and leaving for a time, only to return. This time will probably be more permanent because of age, certainly not because of decrepitude. Maybe short trips to Phoenix or Houston--places around here; maybe, Atlanta.

Governor Perry's Last Straw Mistake!
I've been to Austin and couldn't believe a city would treat its poor with so little respect and acknowledgement by the community.
At that moment in time, as I stood on Congress Street, watching the yuppies enjoy their youthful and flagrant disregard for adult responsibility, I withdrew my support for Governor Perry for President.
But his attempt to virtually put an end to the state's particular effort at monitoring its own activities in order to maintain a government free from corrupt influences by his withdrawing funding of its watchdog agency is an outrage. It makes me suspect there is more going on in state politics than the usual "I'll do this for you, if you do that for me!" syndrome. Evidently, being in the governorship for so long has given Perry a political cushion on which to ride a merry trail without much to track his path. This watchdog agency should be funded and its vital work continued, as an independent agency of state government.

Having to pay for a soup kitchen meal
---Here in El Paso, I frequently have my dinner at the Salvation Army Family Center. The meals are delicious and well-balanced; and free.
--In times past when I lived in El Paso, I would occasionally go to the Rescue Mission for dinner. It's fairly close by. Then, I could'nt go there for dinner because they no longer served to people in the area who are poor. Only to persons residing there overnight.
Now, I understand they've reopened the soup kitchen to people in the El Paso area, but they charge $1.50 per meal. I could never afford to eat there for any length of time! The idea of a soup kitchen meal is to my mind that people who don't have much have at least a free meal! I would hope the Rescue Mission here in El Paso would come to see it that way once again. Also, they still have in effect that the diner must first hear a sermon.

About the Iraqi Challenges
--I'm really glad General Dempsey is holding to a policy of limited US military engagement in Iraq. There's an obvious civil war going on among the Islamic internal and external factions occupying the country. By permitting the Kurds their own provincial governance, thus extending to them the status of virtual independence from the rest of the country, the US has through the years promoted the notion of a tri-partite land. Now, it seems inevitable that such a land configuration will become reality. The only way to re-instate a unified government, to my way of thinking, is through a strong military dominance throughout the nation. But by favoring the Kurdish Republic, with its own military organizations, the US makes such a plan unlikely to work in the short run.
--It seems that the Iraq political situation through the last 8 years is similar to what was encountered by the Egyptian military when Morsi was in power. Just like Prime Minister Iraqi al-Maliki, Morsi favored the political faction he was a leader of; and put his cronies in top governmental positions. Maliki has not only stacked the government with Shiites, he's made his cronies the benefactors of goodies bestowed upon its military generals and high ups--firing Sunni generals as needed by him.
But Egypt's military toppled that corrupt government, whereas the US has permitted 8 years of Shite favoritism in Iraq. It can't be erased easily; and moreover, the Sunnis have yet to find their own leadership in the Baghdad government.

Move the water around the USA!
I was at a lecture last night at the El Paso Art Museum and a good deal of the discussion was focused on the global warming effect at the North and South pole regions. It's certain that as the glaciers melt, there's going to be leashed an avalanche of water that could engulf the land areas of the world.
I pointed out that Netherlands has offered to show the US, particularly the Army Corps of Engineers, how to deal with the problem of severe flooding, which could also become an opportunity for watering arid lands around the world, if the waterways in the world were more tightly controlled.
Anyway, the idea emerged in discussion, why not pipe water from the areas of over-abundance, where there's problems in what to do with the water, to areas arid and dry? We pipe oil around the country; why not water? Right now, from the Mid-West and Atlantic Coast, areas experiencing heavy rainfall, to Texas and Arizona?

--On Friday, I talked with someone from the East Coast who indicated to me that General Dempsey likes what he understands of the item "XII. An Automated, Contract-Driven Military." As Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, he attains far greater flexibility in tactical deployment under the proposal.
Further, the theory provides for shared leadership among all participating military personnel in a project's success. No longer need the lower echelon personnel feel the orders are coming from "on high." No, under the shared responsibility model, lower echelon are involved in the planning and execution of a project from the very beginning, initially by means of the bidding process for project acceptance. It takes advantage of the lower echelon's experience and know-how by bringing these into play in the very designing of the project!
--I've made a spelling mistake in the Christian Pragmatics series: 'imbedded' should be 'embedded.'

Ukraine as exemplar for other Federation satellite states
Many analysts who note the sparring between Russia and the West think it's a resumption of the Cold War! Ha! Such analysts ought to be fired immediately and in their place should be analysts from Russia who know the Russian way of doing things. That way is cheap (It's China's way, too).
When the Russians saw it would take $15 billion to put the Ukraine back on its feet, it let the Ukraine work something out with the EU, anticipating Russia wouldn't need to pay the bill. In point of fact, the Russian Federation of Independent States' Constitution suffers from a failure to specify what is to happen when one of the Satellites goes bankrupt. And there's at least two countries in the Satellite configuration that's in the bankrupt category.
What the Ukraine did, however, was to virtually cut off substantial trade with Russia, favoring instead trade with EU countries. In doing that, it becomes exemplar to the other Satellites. However. Russia won't stand for the Ukraine's asserting its independent rights, because what it threatens is Russia's obtaining cheap goods and services from every Satellite, a leftover concept of the Empire. In arguing for the reestablishment of the Empire, Putin seeks to guarantee that steady flow of products and services he pays want he wants to, threatening them with their loss of independence through Russian military action. He doesn't really need the Empire, all he needs is slave states, living in poverty, doing Russia's will. He doesn't care whether or not they make Russian the official language of their countries! After all, has not Putin learned English?
Here's the beloved Russian country, the Ukraine leading the way for the Satellites to remain free of Russian domination over them. I'm sure Putin is aware of the political dynamics.
What is needed is for the other independent Satellites to do likewise. The best course of action for them all is to with-stay Russia's quota system for their goods and services--for them to refrain from trading on Russian terms and to instead seek to trade extensively with the West--the EU, etc. Russia doesn't have enough troops in its antiquated military arsenal to take on them all. But it will take that kind of spunk to assure each's independence. Cow-towing to Russia's trading demands will simply embolden Russia to embrace them all in its circle. The Customs' Union is just one means for grabbing hold onto them and squeezing.
The question is, are the other Satellites willing to follow the Ukraine's lead and shake off Russia?
That the Russian businessmen have invested in EU enterprises virtually guarantees that if push comes to shove between Russia and the West, these businessmen lose their right to control where their invested monies go--not certainly back into Russia. Still, the current conflict with Russia is not per se East vs.West.
The Satellites, acting in unison to bring Putin down, will assure them they remain free and independent from Russia. Putin has to go, despite the years left in his tenure, both for the sake of Russian business, and for the sake of Satellite independence--in my opinion (as I have argued elsewhere). The West can help, but it's up to the Satellites to stand up for their own independence.

I have been in touch with the European Central Bank in Brussels. They have the means to keep whatever country may suffer as a result of the sanctions that the EU countries have imposed against Russia; and any country in that category should make use of the Bank.
It is marvelous to see the Western countries united in its stand to isolate Russia should Putin continue to reign in power. I had been hopeful that the Russian business community would see the stupidity in the policy of Russia's going it alone, but apparently they are behind him 80% of the way!
Please be reminded that NATO can legally assist whatever Satellite may need it.

XII. An Automated, Contract-Driven Military
Please, this is a WHACK-O Theory!
Currently, Israel is considering subsequent courses of action with respect to Palestine. One course would be to occupy Gaza. Now, I believe the notion of occupying another country is passé. The Romans were wrong; and it eventually undid them. What the US military has gone to, in my opinion, is using primarily the US Army as a training force, to establish an indigenous military under the governmental structures already in place in the particular country, e.g., Iraq, which meets the US military's functional specifications.
But in point of fact, the US military, acting on behalf of the President and Congress, could contract out to any private or governmental military to provide protection and security and military might in some particular country for which there is need. Moreover, various units within multi-branches could compete for a contract to supply military services.
In the case of the Palestinians, Israel could either develop a Palestinian military and contract with it to do military functions or find some organization or standing established military to provide such services.
A. Contracts for military services to be rendered and military objectives to be met
As mentioned above, even within the US military itself, various branches and units could be identified and contracts from the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff could be drawn up in which terms established relating to the contractual goals and the amounts of money that would be agreed to by contractual parties.
This recommendation follows on the heels of a very successful program to use civilians as contractors on military projects in both Afghanistan and Iraqi wars. Because the terms of the contract spell out what is required of the contractor and what support and benefits he will receive as he proceeds to fulfill his duties, there is a measure to determine the success of the contractual obligations of each party. The recommendation is to extend this contractual format to the entire range of military activities.
B. That the military should become fully automated means that there are but tactical uses of ground and air and sea personnel in combat situations. .
The idea of a pinpoint strike of fighting units to make is the driving concept. Other than that, the military is in an auxiliary but controlling posture--wielding automated machinery to achieve its goals.
To make this idea feasible is in my mind to re-position our thinking of command centers. Because the foot soldier is no longer the essence of a military thrust in battle, the command centers can be mobile only in the sense that the entire center is moved about. No longer the army but the navy is to house the command centers for its strike forces. And, these forces are primarily and fundamentally automated--involving computerized planning and execution with pinpoint accuracy, supported as necessary by troops commitment in battle.
Specifically, as drones are further developed and utilized in military combat and for pinpoint strikes, the fighter jet should be less depended upon. This one change should reduce the costs of the air force immeasurably.
The ship can move about, carrying with it the hosts of computerized equipment necessary for automated warfare. In the case of the Army, such whole scale movement is awkward, even if possible.
I think the Israelis have been using this concept to a limited degree when they made its navy the overall command center for its strikes into Gaza.
-----------------------------------------------------------
P.S. I'm of the lineage of the Polish General-King Jon Sobieski. I think the family has always retained an interest in military matters since.

P.S. I'm of the lineage of the Polish General-King Jon Sobieski. I think the family has always retained an interest in military matters since.

XI. When to become Desperate!
Please be aware that this is a WHACK-O Theory.
I was talking with a friend about my recent experience in leaving Las Vegas due to a coming down with a debilitating health condition there. He had a similar experience in Vegas, himself.
What became the center of our conversation was our experiencing an initial feeling of desperate panic followed by our initiating a course of action that involved moving out from Vegas. It's true, had I stayed in Vegas, I could have submitted to medical testing and therapy, but it would have cost into the thousands and thousands of dollars--money I do not have--and I was really sick in need of some immediate remedy.
But why was I so sick? Had not the physical environment in Vegas contributed muchly to my debilitated and physical incapacities? I thought so. The point was to get out of that environment and then seek medical attention! Whatever it was that my body was reacting to was part of that Vegas atmosphere.
Together, he and I agreed that it takes courage to get out, to take your belongings, such as you are able, and make a hasty departure. I reasoned, in a different environment, my body should be able to draw new strength. It could respond to the elements in the new place, differently. And in fact, that's what happened, even as my friend declared it had happened that way to him.
The Indians--from India--have taught this precept in Hinduism: The old should be prepared to move on; and in new surroundings approach their debilitating ailment anew. Some old people retreat into a realm of isolation, but most apply some medical remedy in a different environment they hope is free from the taint of that from which they had come and where they had experienced this particular illness.

Women of the World, Our Only Hope!
The Moslem religion has virtually taken over the planet. The only hope for our salvation is the women. Under Moslem domination, the women are forced into a dependent role. Is that what women want? I think not.
Get busy and fight back for the sake of us all, fast!

--I'll be writing an item, probably will put it in the Didactics series, indicating what I've been writing about these last 5 or so years; and what direction I think my writing will be taking in the future. Because I'll be launching writing into a new series on Globalization. UNLV, I understand, has a large section of literature on the topic that I can draw upon. I've had much training over the past twenty years in this area.

What the Hell is the US doing in Iraq?
Egypt had the same problem. It had to get rid of a government it had put in that wouldn't do the job. How long ago was that?
Now we see that the US doesn't know how to handle the same situation that Egypt faced just months before. It hems and haws and won't get that government out of there. Go in and get them out today! And put in an interterm US ruling regime. You guys are crazy, and don't understand anything about international politics. I've voting you out of office.
Don't they teach International Politics at University of Chicago? If not, they need to upgrade their curriculum.

The Ukraine as of today, June 18, 2014
The Russians have demanded money from the Ukraine for the oil they have used and have not paid for. I insist the Russians take full payment by virtue of the Crimea they took and the Eastern part of the Ukraine they have seized through war. If the Russians think they got the short end of the deal then I must insist that NATO is standing by to teach the Russians a lesson in international politics.
Also, if the pipeline through the Ukraine to the Western nations is shut down, I consider it an act of war; and I will immediately go against you. Think NATO.

--This is so important in my opinion that I wanted to include it as "progress tracking." I was able to contact, I think, Mr. Brezezski's staff in Washington, DC and asked them to tell me about NATO's charter and commitments.
They came through and in an item in ruminations series I tell what I think they told me--nothing in writing, but I think they are correct--otherwise I wouldn't have asked them to verify.. What it means is that NATO might come to the salvation of the Ukraine! Praise God!
Incidentally, I found in his talk just recently in Washington, that his facts are outdated, especially with regard to the alliance with China and Russia. I would hope he's not out-of-the-loop because he has a sound mind, I have found.

Capitalism involvement by every American citizen
I was watching a book discussion program on American inequality on C-Span today.. I think the financial inequality situation could be vastly improved, if the citizen recognized that whether he knows it or not, he is committed to capitalism's success--America's capitalism.
In the high school's the rubrics of capitalism could be taught and students could have their own investment accounts. I've come up with such a plan under Didactics, but there's plenty of other means, I'm sure.
Like a savings account, the student account would gain simple interest while through investing, even in a mutual fund, interest ought to be accrued.
I am mindful that in Alaska, oil revenue is shared with the citizenry who each year earn a stipend by simply living there. The worker would have to work on American shores in order to participate.
What should be the outcomes?
1. Greater pride in being an American and working for industry here in the USA.
2. Earned cash by virtue of their labor and hard work. Concern to keep the party going for those who contributing.
3. A reminder to buy American!
The rich benefit from making investments through the capitalist system; but they keep it to themselves. Access to capitalism tends to be limited to retirement accounts for the average joe.

The End of Mass Murderings
I was brought in only 3 weeks or less to this horrible deveistation.
I solved it. But it's going to take time to go all over the country. I know you people's plight and grieve with you. I'd suggest you contact your local FBI. I can't give out the solution because it's top secret. Let me assure you, through the powers of the US military, it's been resolved.

--Having my own computer in the house has really stepped up my writing!
--This concludes my current set of writing projects, except for Christian Pragmatics, on which topic I'm about half done. I'm working on an idea for another blog series, like Social-X, and will start on the research this summer.
---Of course, the ruminations and "What's up?" and Didactics series will continue as items come up.
--And please, ENJOY!

I just completed on the Christian Pragmatics topic in the Didactics 2 short pieces on Religious Knowledge-- "Format" and "Meta-Elements." I cited from Jesus' teachings and St. Paul's, Biblical chapters for any further study in what I believe is central to religious knowledge. The reason I so proceeded is that it's more important to concentrate on what the concept of religious knowledge pertains to in Christianity--far different than in other religions.
I'm now working on the topic of Social Meaning in the Social-X series.
Beautiful weather here!

This is me; and I'm loving it!
It's taken so many years but I love expressing my opinions, blah, blah. For me writing is both a kooky, fun time and theoretical. Both of these are contained in my writings, but if you will give me at least 1 week, I try to tone down the fun part!
I'm not a teacher; I don't just go in front a class and try to hold my own in front of a skeptical group of individuals who are thinking how to pass the course.
Well, being in Vegas has really changed me dramatically. There's a freedom here and a welcoming to any and everybody. I've never seen the like. Then, add to it, the gorgeous girls and handsome guys--all very young and earnestly trying to be somebody important. I talked with a girl today that could easily blow you away. But she wasn't that pretty; just debonair--WOW! Is she ever great! (All over-age. But they have agencies for truants, of course.).
I recommend the Vegas touch and the Fremont Experience!
I didn't know what it was to live until Vegas, but at least it's not too late. I've still alive.
Listen to me, if you can mortgage your house, divorce your spouse, get here!! Allow your children to accompany you!!

Talk with me please, until whenever!
I've been in touch with women's groups around the world. Some of their stories are terrible, to be sure. Lesbian groups are really supportive of women's plights.
The theme I sense in women-men relationships is that if you land a gorgeous man, hold onto him. But remember, he only wants you for your looks. Once those looks go, he's off to another and maybe sooner.
So, be friends with a good accountant and never put your money in some fund he suggests.
I had a really attractive young female 18 year old who was snapped up here in Vegas, possibly with my help. But I told her, you have to be wiser for your years than you look. That he's going to wine and dine you doesn't mean he's also going to request that you go to bed with his client from Japan! Be smart, but it doesn't mean that sleeping with his client isn't all that bad.
Remember, you want and will have children that are devoted to you , not to your husband.

--I've finally returned to the Social-X series, working on the last topic--Social Meaning. To my amazement, the topic is virtually lacking in conceptual theory, only 1 book on the topic that I have found interesting, written in the 1960s or so. The Emile Durkheim of today, where are you!
Because of the inchoate nature of the topic, I'll need to grope conceptually to tie together the individual, who has social meaning, to the institutions and the organizations within them---both of which have their own social meanings. If the topic is of interest, bear with me as I grope!
--Meanwhile. I've made a few entries in the ruminations series, etc.--as comments to the progress toward full-scale globalization.
--Terry ho!

The USA is watching you
You know the USA isn't the only persons watching you. How about the Chinese or the newly created Soviet Union? Computers.
I've talked with the people of the staff of the Las Vegas of the mayors' office on Sunday at Las Vegas, and I've got loads of money; but I don't have anyone to give it to.
Let me explain the problem. The USA has designated Las Vegas, NV as the place anywhere to live in--no matter where.. I didn't have anything do it with it. But now I'm saddled with a project to bring it about. I've had a history of hard projects that I got to work I can bring in high-powered techs from all over the world, but I would lose local support.
Now, at this crossroads, I am enrolled in a course at OLII (lifelong learning institute), the UNLV today. The course is advertised as Current Events, which I've taken all over the country at various universities. Of course since I'm the player in international politics and dictate what happens all over the world (ha, ha), I think I've got some knowledge I can contribute
I .don't want to make light of this. The stakes are very high, because Vegas will soon rival the pyramids of Egypt in popularity!

This is who I am
I am a lowly person. I had to choose this lifestyle. I was in Brazil being shot at many years ago; and I'm still alive! The Jewish community in San Paulo helped me to make the decision I was unable to think straight.
The Pentagon has deserted me several years ago; I don't have any group that will help. Well, in October I'm running back to El Paso, where I do have friends. This Vegas is for the birds! And that's my life history. They're trying to resurrect Las Vegas, yet despite my help for business here, they'll be glad if I pull out. They think they've got the business savvy to do just fine despite the 2008 calamity. I'd rather hope for a magician's tricks, if that's the only other alternative.
Some nights I must work all night. That's tonight, 5/18 AM.

There's a lot in Anartica
The FIBI has deserted me after 20 years. So I'm left alone but I'm trying to contact to the US military. I think they won't have anything to do with me because I don't play any games. But I've heard from my doctors. And I'm okay thanks to the USA.
Oh, and about Anartica. There's so many minerals that I can't believe. The world would need enough to fight over it. Good luck!

What I would need in Washington, DC
Firstly, I've got terrific health care at Washington Clinic, Foggey-Bottom station.
Where I have a serious problem, necessitating that the FBI come after me and get me out of the city, is living poor in DC. I need housing in a black community, preferably by New York Avenue. In the past, black neighborhood kids have harassed me to no end because I'm old and white!
But that's it. The Lutheran Family Services helps me out a lot; I've got terrific contacts largely through the Pentagon; and I could be more useful there. It's true one common complaint is that I don't toe any political line--I can't be trusted. It's true; but given the present circumstance that my recommendations have proven useful to the establishment, they've come my way so far.
Well, I don't expect I'll be back in Washington, DC, but I thought I'd share what it would take for me to succeed there.
The ideal is if I could be housed at St. Stephen's parish in Columbia Heights. I got talking to the Sexton and I think he said he lived there. And, in years past I knew the Rector from North Carolina.

I have learned from Egypt military. They are the most advanced military I've ever seen. The US military has too many politics that have to be hurdled. But maybe I can circumvent the hurdle.

Cinco de Mayo, 2014!
Some friends from El Paso, TX contacted me, today in honor of Cinco de Mayo.. They want me back in El Paso! I've got good medical there, so the option is real live.
Meantime, I'm evaluating how I'm doing here in Vegas. Though I got great living quarters and good philanthropic help, I can't afford the entertainment nor the fun activities in the area. I did better in L.A.--what drove me out from L.A. and the West Coast is I had lousy medical facilities. I don't have much money. So, the El Paso offer is looking better and better. I won't leave until October, but I think it's a foregone conclusion--John, pack your bags, even at your age! Get out!!

--Since China doesn't want anything that does not go through their editorial board in Beijing on record, I've had to resort to the method of communicating with my people through the Blogs. So far, I think the system is working, I've tried it several times in test mode. Thanks that it's working for now!
--I've had conversations about those in Nevada who deal with Bishop Dan on a regular basis, including elders and other local designates. The man has unparalleled administrative skills. The Episcopal Church in the USA is experiencing grave withdrawals of churches from its organization. These disgruntled churches have appealed to St. Paul's in London to bring in an administrative governance to the USA Episcopal Church that will bring back those churches who have felt the need to leave. Today, the Rector of Christ Church joined the chorus who sing the praises of Bishop Dan to perform leadership duties. I can only make my recommendations to the Episcopal powers that be.

Chancellor Merkel explained Germany's position on Ukraine
I listened to Chancellor's talk at the Chamber of Commerce together with another person, and what she was saying I had interpreted for me!
The gist of it is, Russia returned East Germany to Germany "tear down this Wall!"; and now Germany is granting a favor in return. It is supporting whatever Russia wants to do in Ukraine, so long as the people vote accordingly, whenever they vote. It was explained by my interpreter that Germany's economy is on a fast-track rise, according to Merkel; and that nothing should stand in the way of Germany's becoming the dominating force in the EU--nothing, so she intimated. Truly, she was being frank--even I could see that. But she left out alluding to the oil pipeline from Russia to Germany via the sea, as further inducement to yield to Russia's control.
Moreover, I was told by my interpreter that Russia and Germany look upon the US actions in Iraq and Afghanistan as illegal actions upon those countries just as much as the EU and the United States regard Russia's dominant interference in the affairs of Eastern European countries. (You may know that Russia demands from these countries a percentage of their incomes as the cost for their independence.) I told my interpreter to shut up--I had heard enough of Germany's capitulation!
Incidentally, in the question-and-answer portion, individuals from the audience raised the same points with regard to Germany's reluctance to impose meaningful sanctions on Russia that I am raising. The Chamber of Commerce is no fool!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Is the situation in the world such that there is no rule of reason being applied? Only get what you can and do what you will, so long as you are powerful enough to hold the opposing force at bay?

--I'm doing the research now on the Social Meaning topic in the Social-X series at UNLV. Very nice campus. Also, have enrolled in a summer class on current events at UNLV through the wonderful Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, whose sites are at universities across the nation, the best in my opinion being at UTEP in El Paso, Texas.
--This Vegas is taking off internationally. Had the most visitors to the city last month, I think I heard on the radio. Anyway, I hear from city people that they're not going to sell the city anymore as a place for people to retire to, since many businesses are locating their corporate headquarters or their main branch in the USA here in Vegas. Old people won't be able to afford it!

--I've placed in the Ruminations series an item topical to the current events in the Ukraine, which I'm following closely. In this item, I'm mentioning names and countries supportive of the Russian aggression, in my opinion. If I'm encouraged to continue this practice, I'll do so--as a statement of my opinion, of course.
--Monday or Tuesday I finally start on the Social Meaning topic in the Social-X series.
--But I'm also making progress in the Christian Pragmatics topic in the Didactics series, thanks to Christ Episcopal Church, here in Vegas. They're being so helpful.

"What's mine is mine; what's yours is mine!"
I think what is coming out from Moscow these days are insinuations asserted by major Russian leaders cast in the language of the underworld that if "If the Ukraine doesn't acquiesce to what Russia wants, Russia will simply continue to snip away whole areas of its land." In other words, "If you don't go along with what I want, I'll take it from you, anyway!" Now, I think the Ukrainians know this language very well and have had enough. That's why they chased their President back to Russia some months ago!
It remains whether the EU will stand with the Ukrainians to thwart this continuing take-away of Ukrainian soil by Russia. Ever-diminishing in size, The Ukraine, contiguous to EU's sphere of influence, should not fall to an imperial power, because it had no one to go to for help. Where is the United Nations to protect the territorial boundaries of member nations? Where is the World Trade Organization that demands from each member state a serious pledge to respect any nation's integrity and sovereignty as lawfully prescribed through treaty and agreement?

My Associate, Beth
I want to introduce my Associate for many years, Beth. She's a Marine from Camp Pendleton. We both knew the great, great Michael, whose untimelty death I won't go into. But I can mention that this business is very dangerous. I haven't been moving around the country these past 20 years because of the scenery.
Anyway, there's apparently a chance I can move back to Washington, DC. I've got top medical care there. I'd rejoice at the move, but I know, too, that Beth is here in Vegas with me; and we make a great team. She was in Washington, DC for some years while I was moving around the country.
My mentor was a Marine, Dorothy, who died of cancer. She knew how to get information that proved enormously helpful. We used to spend hours talking about world affairs. I've had really great people around me, Marines!
FYI: We're bringing up stellar personnel who will do honor to the project.

China must have input
I've been listening to the air waves; and I don't know what you people around the globe with glamorous funds through world organizations are saying.
This is the moment of world government. I've been assigned to help with establishing. I might enormous funds I can distribute, but only with China's blessing!
The NGO Disaster
I deal all over the world. The NGOs are doing a great job, but they don't have any idea of the US security. In other words, they're stupid! Who informed me of the problem is a former President, Carter.
I'm telling you from my experience you need a government who will support you. If you don't have one, you're at the mercy of those in control. And you have to chose your government wisely.
I know of the gains in Africa NGOs have made, but they're for naught. These local governments will do you under. You should get in touch with the Pentagon. I'm having dealing difficulty with them because of politics I've got a ace in the hole in China. Contact them, through their most generosity.

The End of N. Korea
It will be suggested at the upcoming meeting in Beijing that the North Korean regime must leave.
I have been in touch with China. They are willing to negotiate for regional increase in power and for getting the Russians off their backs. I had no idea that the Russians were threatening China.

Planning Meeting on Asian Affairs
I know I could do more in Africa. But the US is moving for reasons of trade into Asia.
There's a meeting in China, Beijing, about this. And China and I are one, since I visited the Nixon Presidential Center some years ago.
This understanding has led to the regional control of China in the Asian Peninsula. Japan wonders about its place in this scheme of things, should it come to fruition. Let me assure Japan that China will not undermine Japan. They together stand as a concrete edifice of the Asian Mind.
But now thanks to a lot of things I can't go into, I'm against North Korea. I've got China's interest. China could dramatically overhaul N. Korea. .
I'm not sure as to the United States' involvement. I'm hoping China takes the lead.

Rationale for helping Ukraine now!
I've been in constant touch with the Egyptian military to resolve their problems--the basic one being the new government must have the Muslim Brotherhood, not as its leading force, but as a helping force for the Egyptian military!
But they have informed me their answer to the Putin aggression. They didn't have to do it. But they said they'll help General Dempsey get rid of the threat to European independence.

update: 4/14/14
The Egyptian military know street fighting better than what happened in Afghanistan, They already have proved their mettle.

--Now that I have my own computer--don't rely on just computers in public libraries--and have a relatively permanent place to live--Las Vegas!--etc., I am able to produce manuscripts rather quickly (for me).
--I've completed an initial trial balloon of 4 items on Christian Pragmatics in the Didactics series--"Format," "Meta-Elements," "Religious Value of the Synoptic Gospels;" and "The Eucharist." That is to say, I've done what I promised to some friends who were interested in my theological approach to the Church. If there's any further interest in my theology, I'd be certainly willing to expand topics--I've got some in the back of my mind; but there's no compelling reason from my point of view to go further into religion. I have no "burning desire." I'd delve into the subject matter, if it would do some good for those in everyday activities administering the Gospel message within the Christian community.

Crimean Invasion Meeting with Resistance
I have communiques that suggest the Crimean conquering hasn't been that smooth as the Russians expected.
Now, Russia is threatening the entire Ukraine. I know the Ukrainian freedom fighters will do their best to defend their independence. But they have no force equivalent to the Russians.
President Obama, I understand, has issued or will issue another warning. He should take himself to Syria and beg for forgiveness for all the Syrians that have died because there is no help against the Russian onslaught by proxy on their land! Congress has not been his problem due to the incredible energy of Senator Reid. His problem is indecisiveness.
Obama was educated at Chicago University and should have benefitted from that.
I'm in touch with Rick Perry's office for 2016!
------------
Latest news on CNN by Zakaria indicates Russia wants either a puppet government in Kiev or wants to take over the country by force. In any case, it assumes a threatening posture towards the Ukraine.
Putin himself has raised the stakes. No longer is it a matter of one country, the Ukraine, or Crimea on the Black Sea. the prize. But now it's the entire number of satellite nations that if Russia has its way will return to be one with Russia. Even now Russia demands from each of them a specified amount of materials and grains for it to continue as a sovereign state. Putin is headed toward threatening their independence. The end in view: back to serfdom with their non-Russian populations! .

I'm working, or trying to be cooperative, with a new group of supporters of my efforts. These folks have different ideas than I'm used to following, but I'm game!
Anyway, they were the ones who came up with the personal history item and now they've got me to try a topic entitled scribblings. I told them I don't think the items will make sense to anybody but my own sub-conscious! Anyway, I'm going to try it for a week or so.

Personal History Record of John O.
--I'm starting a new topic in -John's "What's up?", that will contain remembrances of my past and current activities.
--First off, in my visit to Moscow, Russia to help on the Russian Federation Constitution, there are tapes on file up to 4 hours in duration on my suggestions as a contributior.
--There won't be any record for now as to my activities, past and present, regarding any possible projects I've worked on, or am working on, with China at their request.
--I'll try to include any possible needs I may have, so that things remain transparent to the degree possible.
--I'm gaining in support for my staying in Las Vegas. Thank you!

In the interests of Christian history, I attended Union Theological Seminary when Paul Tillich, German Theologian, had just retired though Reinhold Niebuhr was still teaching; and I met him. When I went back to New York University to complete the Ph.D. program in philosophy, I did my M.A. thesis, neophyte that I was, on Tillich's concept of the religious experience.
My roommate at Union was a young man slated to be a minister in Troy, New York. We had some discussions on theology. I don't know where he is, but I can almost guarantee that he became a minister in the Troy, New York area. I found it hard to stay in the Union dorms that one year I attended Union, but he may remember some things. Nice guy.
My sister, Sheila, always was my mainstay. Whatever, she believed that I with her help would radically change the world! She--for some reason that I could never figure out--gave my letters to her to the Episcopal Church, probably Trinity Church in New York or St. Bartholomew's Church on Park Avenue, where she was a member during the times prior to her untimely death due to illness (She committed suicide only when she knew she was shortly to die), during my first marriage to Barbara Ann Ogle.

--I went to a theological seminar today and discovered that I could say just about anything on the topic of theology and it would be better than the stuff I was hearing is prevalent today! So motivated, I am working feverishly toward the topic in theology I'm most interested in--what it means to 'draw nigh to God.'
I've just written up what I believe to be the instructive nature of the Gospels to improve upon our initial contact with God, the power of the universe, and His Son, Jesus Christ. This jargon may seem not theological, but downright the language of the believer in contact with God already. That's because God is everywhere; and we just need to attune ourselves to His Presence. The reason for nourishing this relationship of God to man in the omni-presence of God in the world is to enable us to become even more Godlike, by drawing upon His power. In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit is the vehicle by which man comes to draw 'nigh to God.' But the Bible tells us, we need to over and over again establish that moment of contact with God through God's Holy Spirit. I shall use the Eucharist as the exemplar of how this is accomplished.

--I have completed editing the Social-X series up to the last topic of Social Meaning. I conceived of this topic just about a year ago, so I haven't even started to do the research that's needed to write it!
--I've also placed into the Didactics series a new topic that's just recently evolved in my thinking--Christian Pragmatics. I think many individuals, including me, question whether religion is needed in our lives. I've reaffirmed the conviction that as long as man is an animal and not a computer or thought-machine, religion is simply a part of a total human life. So, I've come up with this topic of Christian Pragmatics (CP) as a way to organize my thoughts on one aspect of a normally lived life, namely, the religious response to events we experience and undergo.
--One thing that's sure true of living in Las Vegas, I've found: time is on a whirlwind course, here. I've never seen the 8 months I've been here go by so fast--more like it's been one week!
--Also, I finally own a laptop computer. It took some time to set it up so that I can work quickly on it. But now I don't have to go to the public library as often. I was totally dependent on its computers for some many years.

I've tried to do what I could to resolve the Middle East stalemate, but I could see nobody's interested. The interesting thing is what I learned from Turkey and Egypt on how to run a military.

Russian Incursion into Ukraine, No!
I have talked with Ukrainians recently. They are appalled at the EU's reluctance to act for world peace and justice. They marvel at the US's reluctance to do but the minimal.
I know the US military, and they won't stand idly by as a country's military, any country's, challenges their preeminence in world affairs. (--the world according to John O.)
Be it known that I believe in the US military to resolve this crisis in the Ukraine-Crimea such that the Crimea will remain part of the Ukraine--and the Russian troops, whose many years of friendship with the Ukrainian military has brought about trust one with the other, will prove itself.
I am busy on affairs of world governance, but I have involved myself in Russian's military aggression to the degree that I say "Go get 'em Marines! And maintain the US military domination in the world, Thank God!"

What Do Syrians Want?
I've heard and seen on TV enough to convince me that something must be done to alleviate the suffering of Syrians whether they are still living in Syria or have become refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or some other Arab country.
But what do Syrians want? It is clear Syria isn't going to give up its arsenal of chemical weaponry en toto. The plight of all Syrians is dire, because of political unrest. Do Syrians want a in change in government? If so, who will represent their interests?
I believe a cease-fire moritorium should declared by the U.N. and the interests and will of the Syrians whether in the country or in some nearby country should be ascertained. Could there be a referendum, as is being proposed for the eastern regions of the Ukraine?

Scotland's First Try at gaining independence
Hooray for the Scots! In an apparent attempt to have greater stature in the EU, Scotland is to vote on secession from the UK this year. It has been said that should it model its future after what Denmark has achieved in Scandanavia, it might even succeed in this initial effort,
What I assume the Scots want to preserve is its Scottish character, dating back through the Centuries. Its language and customs should be the hallmark of its culturally rich heritage.
Historically, countries have unified for the sake of commerce and trade across their borders: standardization of terminology and transactions for the ease of communicating and fulfilling contractual obligations.
Today, there is little need to homogenize any land to a model that all countries are to employ. Apartment buildings and corporate structures that look alike regardless of location can now be avoided! Local character and charm are factors that should be integrated into contemporary design of landscapes. And, independence of a country enables the people of that country to see themselves as incorporated in a distinctly unique environment of their own creation--not something foisted on them by a ruling or dominant nation!
Now there is always the question of whether a country can afford to be different from its neighbor. How will it deal with an ever-impending doom that independent countries must face, namely, bankruptcy! This is the very same question that the Ukraine is facing now. And the ready-made answer that may cost them their independence is to submit to a dominant nation that promises to pay their debts outstanding--in this case, Russia.
But I say to you, Scotsmen, and to you, Ukrainians, that there are financial means available through international lending organizations--like the IMF, or the World Bank; as well as countless others, including soon, the Bank of the EU--that money is available to faltering nations and these lending institutions are prohibited to force an indebted nation to ally with one or another country!
Scotland will probably not become independent as a result of its referendum in September. But the advantages of being independent will slowly be recognized as a vision the Scots will come to cherish for their country!

--the editing of Social-X should be drawing to a close by the end of the month! Then, more research dealing with Social Meaning (SM)--the yet-to-be written remaining section.
--I'm hoping to buy a used computer to access Internet from my apartment soon. That should vastly increase the speed at which items are entered onto one of my four current blogs, even as I am finding need to do research at some university library, e.g., University o Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) for the various items.
--I'm preparing to write on religion in a new series in the Didactics blog I entitle Christian Pragmatics, the first item of which will probably deal with how a worshipper comes to have a religious experience through the Mass. The series will center around practices as conducted in Christianity, though the points to be made relate to any religion, I shall contend.

Challenge for the 21st Century: Conflict Resolution
I believe the world is on the verge of entering an epoch-changing era in which conflicts are resolved before they lead to either hostility or the dissolution of relationships.
What is needed now:
Coordination of research and study of conflict resolution and the compilation of successful ways in which conflicts have been resolved amicably is needed now. Knowledge about conflict resolution should be housed in designated universities and colleges, one of which should be a military college. Be it recognized even by the US receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, that the US military has amassed a number of successes worldwide, howbeit recent, in resolving conflicts internal to a country or external. It should thus be given an especial role in the coordination project.
The Current Status of knowledge about conflict resolution
The realm of literature and the arts, e.g., theater, present instances of conflict resolution. And countless fields of study delve into the topic or contain reference to its concept: sociology and anthropology as relevant social sciences, management-union relations, the judiciary and law enforcement agencies, the military history of wars, intercity gang violence, marriage counseling, the history of religions of the world and their sects, documented by racial and religious historical records. I understand there exist organizations devoted to its inquiry. Even politically hostile fringe groups like al-Qaeda can be seen as motivated toward conflict because their cries from desperation are cast aside by an unresponsive society.
Accordingly, much knowledge, though haphazardly scattered about in the intellectual world, needs only compilation, classification; and synthesis.
Project Completion
The world will know this coordinating effort has succeeded when it is scientifically confirmed that "marriages are made in heaven!" (Compare to the Biblical euphoric ideal of a lion lying down with a lamb.)

--I've put out some timely items today.
1. Could UN Lead in Earth's Infrastructure Upgrading? in John's "What's Up?"
2. Good Resources in Didactics.
Could UN Lead in Earth's Infrastructure Upgrading?
President Obama has been proposing that infrastructures like schools, bridges, waterways, coastal lands, roads, government buildings and so on be brought up to specs for a nation on the move--confronting, as it does, the implications of changes in sea-level, greater offshore drilling for natural resources, increased motorized and train traffic; and heavy demand for shipped goods via air, sea, and earth. His vision is to spur Congress to pay for such projects on the home front. Congress is apparently prepared to follow his lead in order to create even more trade agreements spanning the globe.
But the need for infrastructure upgrading is global, particularly if US trade and commerce is to reach every country, nay, every locality in the world! And, that possibility can become a reality by the Twenty-Second Century. As one people, we the citizenry should stand with our corporations and businesses to penetrate markets wherever trade is possible thus, overcoming the problem of infrastructure upgrading and making trade even more extensive with a greater number of trading partners. The Baltic States, for example--Estonia in particular, are wont for roads and ports to rival their capabilities in transacting commercial ventures over the Internet. But they need the superstructures that would enable them to really enter the modern pace of today's world of commerce! The same case can be made for countries in South America and Africa.
Now, it just so happens that there will soon emerge a major, worldwide problem of finding a sufficient number of jobs for youths. The crop of youths about to enter the workforce is about to become staggering, and jobs must await them. These youths, I assume, won't have families, aren't really committed to remaining in any one area, e.g., where they were born, and so could benefit from employment opportunities in upgrading infrastructure no matter where-in-the-world the jobs are!
It would be helpful, of course, if the dominant nations in the world--the US, China, Russia, Germany, England, and so on could offer expertise and technical training and equipment to those countries just barely aware that they have serious infrastructure needs.
So, my proposal is that no country go it alone in undertaking some project of infrastructure construction, but that the United Nations coordinate all such efforts, no matter whether the project be in some advanced country or some Third World nation. The materials required would no doubt be local, but the techniques would be of the utmost advanced quality. Workers would come from a pool of unemployed youths, willing to travel (like true soldiers and the French Foreign Legion) and dedicated to doing something of lasting value and of great need to further commerce around the world; and their work experience on some project might give them training useful for the rest of their working years.
.

I've opened up a new item theme in the Didactics series, "Lessons." The first of the items is on lessons from history.
Because I don't plan on doing anything with the Social-X series except submitting the edited manuscript (once I finish that and add a new section on Social Meaning, to be completed by the Spring), for e-book publishing consideration by some e-book house, I haven't been steadily pursuing the course, but have gone off on tangents into some current political and social issues now and again. I am making progress, be it ever so slowly!
