Movement toward Independence in Catalonia

It's clear that there's no movement toward an Independent Catalonia region to be allowed under the Spanish Constitution. Recourse must be to a higher power than the Spanish Government and that does not exist at this moment.  Some international body is needed to permit and oversee the process of any region toward independence stature in today's world.  Else confusion and chaos.

I'm placing my discussion of regional independence in the Social-X, My Memoirs and Regional Independence Blog, recently updated to include the theme of Regional Independence.  The matter deserves wide dissemination and final resolution.

Spain pleads for unity; Catalonian opposition jailed

Did you see this?  Spain, that bastion of old-hards, wants to restrain its opposition in the Catalan region to move ahead of the old, rotted-out tradition of sponsoring the "ne're-didn't-ever do anything" status quo.  And here's a brand-new force of aggressive, forward-looking Barcelonians attempting to put their money to better use than squandering on an old, decrepit regime.  I say, "Calonians, go your own way.  Make sure you provide your citizenry the services and attention they need to "go on their merry way;" and let you align yourself with other, thoughtful and intelligent people, willing to carry on your heritage into the bright future that awaits you (if you don't kow-tow to the blandishments of the hordes of "give-mes" what you got, so I can waste them on my pet dances")!
VOTE FOR YOUR WAYS; AND DO IT YOUR WAY!

--Sorry!  I didn't realize what a hot topic Regional Independence seems to be.  Will devote much time to it!!  Am looking at the recent history of some of the independents' for getting a flavor of what is transpiring in the Russian Federation: starting off with Georgia.  It's just a get-acquainted reading; but I don't think more is necessary at this stage of the study.

--Including items related to settling back in DC in the blog "What's Up, John?"

--Will be working on items that may turn out to be part of a new blog  Regional Independence.
This is the first new blog I've added in several years!
The point I am making there is that while the US independence movement led to war, such undertakings need not--as I intend to show by citing our experience in establishing the Russian Federation.

--Personal note:  I've been having a bout with arthritis in my left knee in the cold weather.  That plus my bouts with intruders trying "to get money from me" in El Paso before I left for good, and I'm wondering myself, "What's up?"="What's going on?"
--12/14/17  I came back from GWU-Med Ctr; and only yesterday did I examine the left knee for myself.  Incidentally, no one professional at GWU-Med had touched it when I was in all-day Tuesday, the 12th.  Anyway, I clearly discovered a soft-brown spot that appeared to be where someone had hit hard the area just below the knee and may have left an indentation.  I hadn't felt anything till I touched it on Wednesday evening.  (me-ed: or, so it seemed)

Trump's pace for a second four years nearly a lazy trot

He's criticized from the left and the right, but if he get the tax proposal through Congress, I think he's a sure bet for the 2000.  Simply pur, nobody is in position to stop him.

The Dems cry, "Look how he favors the rich!"
But look how the rich and the rich-to-become have financially supported him!

The Republicans cry, "He can't muster support to pass his own healthcare bill that would pay for his programs and defeat the one Dem program that alone could bankrupt the country, if allowed to be in effect!"

Amid the rancor from both sides, Trump appears to be the level-headed voice of reason.,  --Unless, the country does go belly-up; or for some reason decides to embrace the aristocrats as savior of the country instead of listening to the will of the people!

Settling in Washington, DC in 2017!

A bit of personal history--now and again.

I found a place to stay permanently  thanks to some really sharp US government people.  It's not paradise living quarters, but very adequate and SAFE that I'm in; and the guys in this senior dorm are sensitive to my situation.  I am appreciative.
When I arrived in DC, I stayed temporarily at the New York Avenue Shelter.  That proved to be another series of harassments, until I complained to their staff, including Mr. Moore, who set things right for me!  The rest of my stay there became uneventful, though I had to carry my belongings everywhere. It became a respite haven, where I reviewed in my bunk at night some of my most exciting projects!  This living stuff has been one great roller coaster ride in getting things DONE-- ACHIEVED DESPITE THE ODDS TO THE CONTRARY in many projects.
I'm writing this on CCNV's computer in their computer room, December 1st--at the start of what I take to be an important project (see the project progress about it in this blog).  I live in the CCNV senior men's dorm presently.  I'm currently working on several projects simultaneously--my usual custom.
I eat my meals mostly at Miriam's Kitchen, a gem of the city available to the poor and indigent and lonely-in-heart.  (Their social work staff is  helping me find a suitable place to live, particularly where I can do my own cooking.  I see the doctor this next week and I'm concerned I'm not eating in accord with dietary restrictions, though I must say when I need to correct some minor bodily mis-functioning, I am readily able to do so with satisfactory results.  After all, I am 80 years of age and growing older (with grace?).
Miriam's kitchen serves breakfast and dinner--both featurimg wonderful entrees   Check it out!!
And CCNV is extraordinarily well-run, despite some initial reservations I had.
For entertainment in the evenings,  I usually proceed to the Kennedy Center for a juicily delicious topping to the day of music, dance and song.  The Center has what it calls a Millennium Stage, ie., free entertainment from 6-7 PM (also on Internet) everyday of the year; and that's what I like to go to.

I'm getting used to the Library of Congress, where I'll be doing a good part of my research.  Went yesterday, the first time since I've been back in DC--hopefully (as I always say) for good!

I take mostly buses because seniors get half price on a weekly pass.

I've got a temporary DC-ID paper, awaiting the card.

By the way, I think I'll be seeing a doctor at the George Washington U. Med Center, per my appointment card.

I watch some TV or the CD movie selection of some dorm fellows, but not every night since I'm tired the nights I venture out to the Kennedy Center.

I use primarily the CVS pharmacy around town.  Go to events at the National Art Gallery--day only so far though they have Sunday night concerts, too.

I'll be getting the City Paper for a listing of things to do in DC.

And oh yes, I forgot a mainstay in my life on weekends--"Loaves and Fishes" luncheons Saturday and sometimes Sunday and church services at St. Clement's, 1525 Newton, Columbia Heights.  I enjoy the Episcopal faith very much--the Taize service and Sunday morning Forum and Eucharist.

Despite being 'safe,' I've been accosted twice this year by guys demanding money!

The management where I live has been understanding; and old men in the hotel have given me real good preventive ideas; but nevertheless I've learned to be real careful to prevent hostile encounters in the future!

You just can't let it all hang out there to tempt the young (bastard) thrives!  I hope never again!

XXVI: I, (John O.), had a dream...!

This is the only truth in this WHACK-O Theory!

I  dreamed I was in the front row of an auditorium and a speaker at the podium was delivering a report of findings he claimed offered proof-positive that President Donald Trump was a buddy of Rex Tereleson, who was a buddy of many Russian businessmen in oil but also in real estate.  Through the buddy system Trump Inc. was to build a luxury hotel in Moscow.

"The Trump Campaign and the Russian entrepreneurs were buddies (= I"ll scratch your back if you scratch mine!), that's the just the way businessmen do business," the speaker was saying. To him, it was inconceivable that things would be otherwise.

So, I nodded in my stupor, for I tended to agree in the premise--that's business.!

Money, Money! It's booming business in US

According to Jim Cramer (CNBC) the stock market never had it so good: AMD, McDonald's and Boeing (with whom I did computer contracting many years ago) leading the way of the "old timer" stocks.

Moreover, the state of Wisconsin with Republican governor and Paul Ryan of Congress has woo-ed new business to their state under Trump.

But the problem is President Trump himself with his absurd twitters and tangential national policies and his failure to play the political game according to Hoyle.  He's alienating every politician of stature in Washington!
Personally, I think the Republicans will cast him off but take his ideas and put in Pince as President.  He's angering just to many, especially, Sessions and the FBI and the intelligence organizations--not to mention his bout with the press, and the homosexual community.  In short, I think his days are going to be shortened because of his craziness!

And, he's making a sham of the health care government support.   It won't be tolerated--I don't think.  He would have to tell Congress what legislation to pass, but I don't think he has the political savvy to pull it off.

Central Operations--Wish List #1

--Central Ops #1 ("Vegas") is doing fantastic.  I aver for more, more office space; and if possible, a sort of Marriott-type Residence be made available, so that persons involved in the operation could stay up to 3 months.

--Then, I've made it known that the entire  American continent could use the Central Operations concept.  It would necessitate setting up something in San Diego; since communication lines south and north could be better handled through San Diego than elsewhere.  Further, I understand it's already being staffed there.  Well, I would like to move to San Diego to be part of the set-up team!  I would hope a decision could be forthcoming for my moving in November (thinking positively!).

--I've been real busy, but I had to phone in my communications instead of using the blog format due to the nature of the items.  I'm back to the blogs--for awhile!
--Weather is great.  The doctors have been working on my left eye, so that I can use it.  Here's hoping.
--Currently, I'm looking for more items to include in the blogs.  But, I've really been working hard!
Have a few items re: Ops Central--To be included as a wish list.

A week of clear-cut posturing, June 19th, 2017

It might seem the past week was just more of the same: the Senate unveiled its health care alternative to Obmacare, Trump raised his campaign victory sign, "We've won several recent elections!" and all was right in the Republican camp.

Yet there are indications of dissent over the lingering premonition that nothing permanent is being wrought.  Oh yes, there's the Presidential Orders taking effect; and there's legislation being discussed in Congress and thee's a hint Kennedy may step down as Chief Justice; but as long as a cloudy dust clogs the White House's air vents arising from a strong legal stench permeating its halls and rooms there's little to suggest a Trump progress toward  policy change is here.  He simply is lacking the wherewith to give direction as the nation languidly drifts.

Meantime, former President Obama continues to lead the search for new leadership in the Democratic Party. Sufficiently financed, indeed, a cadre of potential talent is being identified for the next 6 years and after!  As Trump would say, "Time will tell."

The US Senate has significant additional sanctions against Russia in offing

My military friends in the Joint Chief of Staffs' Office commented to me that the proposed Senate sanctions against Russia might go farthest toward toppling Putin than any act in the past two years!  Frankly, I don't know much about what is being proposed, but I'm told its a "virtual" bombshell!

Being that I've known that office--Chairman, Joint Chief of Staffs--for so many years, I am confident in throwing my support for the Senate's measures.

The FBI Has International Stature

As is the case with the US military, which has installations in over 180 countries, the FBI is also international-maintaining field offices in many countries around the globe (though its operations are not in as many nations).

Be it known, that the FBI provides its services, sometimes at very low cost to a participating country, so that multitudinous nations may train and equip their police and government forces in the latest technologies, including that of cyber logistics.

At present, the FBI Director is under pressure exerted by the US government's federal administration.  That is simply par for the course in performing duties inherent to a position with worldwide responsibilities.

Operations Centers #5 and #6 in Canada

Canada has decided to join the Operations Centers project:  # 5 is designated Vancouver; and #6, Toronto,  has already been put into service: #6.

I think that's all the Centers for now.  No more Operations Centers? The ones identified are in service except for Vancouver.  Seattle and Vancouver  are to come in sync shortly.

It's my impression, the project is a tremendous success; and its principles are so simple!  Good luck, Centers!  Because #2a--Juarez serves such a large area (vastly populated), it is currently in a Second Developmental Stage.

Note:  I can't find at the moment, the announcement of Central Operations #1  among items in the "What's Up?" category;, but in any case, Las Vegas is Central Ops #1; and currently Beth is manning it.  Truly, Vegas is our flagship Ops Center (and I hope for a long time to come!).

Coal Miners don't really want a coal mining job; they want what it pays!

Let's face it.  Talk to any coal miner and they don't love it in the mines.  But it pays better than anything other they can get.  It's so sad to realize they're sacrificing their lungs and general overall health to keep their family together.

XXV. Military in President's Cabinet and related

Please remember, a Whack-O Theory is not based on any fact!

There is a danger if an federal Administration places a professional soldier (retired or active) in a position in the President's Cabinet.

He or she still has connections in the military; and should the President find he could use military personnel to achieve some purpose of his, he might just call on his buddy with military connections to help him out.

Let's take an example.  Suppose, due to budget constraints, a President can't process the number of deportees he's slated to send away--say to Mexico,  But then he thinks, "Ah, the military."  Somehow he adjudges he can get military assistance to speed up the process.  That will mean he can seize more land or other property left behind by the departed illegal immigrants, simply because they're being deported from the US at a faster clip.  Now, who could righteously complain about the improved rate of their being let go?

Be it known that President Trump has more than one member of his Cabinet with many years of professional experience in the military.

XXIV. Putin in Panic: Effectiveness of Russian Underground

Please remember this is a WHACK-O Theory--not an element of truth to it!

The GRU has been unable to crack the Russian Underground.  And so, their work continues; thus depriving the Russian intelligence of an extra bottle of vodka!

Putin's response is to up the heat under the Ukraine.  Such a policy endangers China's participation in constructing a modern port city for Russia in the Crimea. Further, it hardens resistance among the Federation's former Russian territories to participate in the Russian-led trade organization.  But, hopefully, it should hasten the day of Putin's depose from the international  scene.  He has become a hindrance to Russian trade and commerce; and a blight on Russian development and international influence.  Compare to how China flourishes world-wide!

His support of Assad has directly led to the annihilation of  Syria.  It will take decades to rebuild that land.  His midas-touch is that of destruction and desolation of any project he initiates.  Why, he has no inkling of how to handle the Russian economy; and yet, he enjoys the approval of the Russians for lo, these 17 years.  How he and other dictators and would-be dictators have entranced their entertainment-bound audiences FOR A LIMITED ENGAGEMENT!

Pres. Trump, formulate your own version of TPP, PLEASE!

Somebody in the US should take the lead to bring nations together into a US version of TPP for the Asian hemisphere.  Otherwise, the US will no longer lead that part of the world with its booming markets in trade and commerce; and the world will become a sorry loser!

As it stands now, China has 16 nations of that region in its own version of TPP, including Japan and S. Korea.

But if President Trump did go to some version of the TPP, he might be deprived of making some under-the-table deal on a one-to-one basis.

COMMENT 7/20/17:  HOPELESS!
